The Bike Library
In 2025, the Bike Library will reopen on Tuesday 7 January and the first Fix ‘n’ Ride event will be on 1 February.
Help us keep the Bike Library open after current funding runs out in December 2024.
The Bike Library operates just like a regular library, providing long-term access to second-hand bicycles, scooters, helmets and locks to any adult or child requiring a bike. Loans are available for up to six months with extensions available upon request.
How it works
Preloved bicycles are donated to the bike library, our volunteer mechanics refurbish the bikes, and we make them available to the community to borrow!
The Bike Library is run by Pedal Power in partnership with the Margaret Hendry School and Community Services #1 with the support of the Suburban Land Agency’s community development program Mingle.
As well as facilitating access to bikes through the Bike Library, we run learn to ride courses designed for children and adults. If you’d like to learn a bit more about repairing and maintaining your bike, you can attend one of our maintenance workshops. For the latest updates on the Bike Library, keep an eye out on this page and subscribe to our newsletter.
