Pedal Power Executive Director Cecily Michaels was delighted to attend the Canberra Environment Centre (CEC)'s 50th birthday celebrations, an event that not only marked a significant milestone but also reinforced the valuable partnership between Pedal Power and the CEC. Cecily said it was wonderful to connect with key community leaders like Jo Clay, Shane Rattenbury, Andrew Braddock, and Minister Suzanne Orr, all of whom share our commitment to sustainable transport and environmental stewardship.

As we reflect on the CEC's journey and look ahead to our own 50th anniversary next year, I'm struck by how our organisations have grown together, united by a vision of a greener, more bicycle-friendly Canberra. Our work with the Recyclery, which transforms discarded bicycles into renewed opportunities for sustainable transport, epitomizes the powerful impact we can achieve through collaboration.

These celebrations were more than just a commemoration – they were a reaffirmation of our shared goals and a testament to the continued work of building a more environmentally conscious community.
