New Riders Embrace the Joy of Cycling

Our last Cycle Well course of the year wrapped up with a remarkable group of 10 new cyclists—all taking their very first steps (or pedals!) into the world of cycling.

In what we believe to be the first time in the program’s history, every participant was completely new to cycling. By the end of the course, all but one had successfully learned to ride. The remaining participant, who initially joined the course to improve her trike-riding skills, found the experience so inspiring that she’s now determined to practice her bike skills. She is very close to mastering two wheels and plans to borrow a bike from our Bike Library to continue her journey.

These participants displayed tremendous courage in taking on the challenge of learning something entirely new. Cycling opens doors to new opportunities, from improving fitness and confidence to discovering the joy of exploring the world on two wheels.

Led by qualified instructors and supported by dedicated volunteers, Cycle Well is a five-week course designed to provide a safe, supportive, and traffic-free environment where participants can focus on building their skills.

Whether you’re returning to cycling after years off the bike or trying it for the very first time, Cycle Well will help you gain the confidence and skills to enjoy the freedom of riding. The course runs across five consecutive Sunday afternoon sessions, each lasting one hour. Our next Cycle Well course kicks off in April 2025. Keep an eye on our website for upcoming dates and the booking link.
